BT Dealing with Disaster

BT takes its responsibilities for emergency planning extremely seriously. This information is primarily aimed at helping Category 1 Responders, Emergency Authorities (Police, Fire, Ambulance Service and Coastguard), Local and Regional Resilience Forum Teams and Local Authorities (County Councils, Borough and District Councils, Unitary Authorities and City Councils). It explains the processes BT follows in the event of a network failure or when a Major Civil Emergency occurs.

BT (as a Category 2 responder) is actively involved in fulfilling the requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. BT has a systematic, planned and co-ordinated approach to:

• Risk Management

• Planning for Emergencies,

• Business Continuity Management

• Co-operation with Category 1 and 2 responders.

BT’s Emergency Planning Regional Teams represent BT at a local and regional level for resilience issues. A comprehensive contact list showing the areas covered by each regional team can be found at the end of this brochure so that readers may contact the correct source of help, or for further information.

IMPORTANT BT REGULATORY NOTICE
